到现在为止，我们已将节拍拆分为一个、两个或四个独立音符（四分音符，八分音符以及十六分音符）。不过，还有另一种方法：如果我们要将每个1/4拍等分为三个一样的音符，那么一个4/4拍小节就会包含十二个音符。这种音符就叫做三连音。每一拍都包含三个八分音符为一拍的三连音。所以在符杠上方标注有数字3。

试着用左脚打出四分之一拍。每数三个数就打一拍。相比数数，Reinhard Flatischer的“Ga – Ma – La-”三音节法会更加雅致一些。试着连续说四遍“Ga- Ma – La -”，确保每个音节的发音时间相同。每说一次“Ga”就脚掌打一拍。和之前一样，开始时要缓慢弹奏，直到完全掌握节奏之后再加速。接下来，是一个A小调和其关系大调C大调的基础练习。
